Wonder if you should try something new but don’t want to bother buying new ingredients and spending a lot of time in the kitchen. I get it.

That’s why you’re going to love this sweet potato oven fries recipe. It’s a healthy take on classic french fries with even more flavor. And without all the oil found in restaurants or takeout fries.

INGREDIENTS

I like to keep things simple and this sweet potato oven fries recipe does just that with only 5 ingredients.

Sweet Potatoes
Olive Oil
Garlic Powder
Paprika Powder
Salt

Sweet potatoes are nutritious. They are filled with fiber, antioxidants, and can help regulate blood sugar levels. And a nice change up to russet potatoes.

The garlic and paprika powder are what enhance this sweet potato oven fries recipe.

HOW TO MAKE SWEET POTATO OVEN FRIES

Preheat the oven to 450 F / 232 C. The higher temperature helps get these sweet potato fries crispy on the outside.

To cut these sweet potatoes: Keep the skins on. Rest your sweet potato on its side on a cutting board. Cut 1/2 inch slabs working lengthwise. Then, turn the sweet potato and cut 1/4 inch thin fries.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, toss sweet potatoes with just enough oil to coat the sides. Sprinkle paprika powder, garlic powder, and salt on top.

Spread the sweet potatoes fries in a single layer on the baking sweet. I like to use 2 baking sheets.

Sweet Potato Oven Fries Recipe

Bake for 20 minutes and then flip the sweet potato oven fries. This helps bake all sides of the sweet potato fries. I like to flip them with a spatula but you can also use your hands to flip the sweet potato oven fries. Bake again for 15 minutes.

Sweet Potato Oven Fries Recipe

Sweet potato oven fries are best enjoyed warm. It’s up to you but I love to sprinkle a little extra salt on top to enhance the flavors. And that’s it my friends! Hope you enjoy this recipe.

More Easy Side Ideas

Don’t forget to pair this sweet potato oven fries with another tasty option. These fries go well with a salad and my chimichurri sauce, veggie burgers or you name it.

Absolutely love sweet potatoes and this is a delicious and sinless version of French fries. I do the same with ciche peas – must admit they are so delicious too that they can be eaten raw as a summer salad but smoked paprika and garlic are fab together

Thanks Tanya! I’m also on team sweet potato over here in my home. Emmett eats them as an afternoon snack hot or cold :) And summer sweet potato salads sound divine! Sending much love to you in Paris
