3/4cupdried chickpeaswill make ~1 ½ cup cooked chickpeas or you can use a 15 ounce can of chickpeas
1/4cuptahini
1lemon juiced about 1/4 cup
3clovespressed garlic
1/2teaspoonpaprika
1red chili can use jalapeño
2tablespoonolive oilplus more for serving
1/4cupwater
1/2teaspoonsalt

Blend ingredients in a food processor.
Taste test the hummus to see if you need more of an ingredient. You may need to add a little water or more lemon to get the right consistency.
When finished, sprinkle extra paprika and drizzle olive oil on top. Served with sliced carrots or pita bread.

Notes
If using dried chickpeas, soak the dried chickpeas for at least an hour. This helps reduce the cooking time and improve digestion.If using canned chickpeas, you do not need to keep the liquid within the can. This liquid can be thrown away. Just make sure to rinse your chickpeas before placing in the food processor.
