Let’s be honest, eating the same food can feel good. We know exactly what to expect. Maybe we don’t need to keep as many ingredients in our home. But it can get boring as hell to eat the same food over and over again. Ya know the feeling?

At the same time, the thought of chocolate in your home can cause a bit of anxiety. You might know exactly how much chocolate is in your home and the exact spot in your pantry or fridge. So you may want to avoid chocolate altogether.

Yet what if you could still enjoy chocolate in a smoothie without the need to have a chocolate bar on hand. That would be pretty awesome right?

WHAT IS CACAO / COCOA POWDER

Oh my friend if you haven’t heard about cacao or cocoa powder let me rock your world. Seriously cacao or cocoa powder is a powder that gives off the rich chocolatey flavor you’re familiar with in desserts.

Cocoa Powder is made by roasting at high temperatures and still has health benefits just not as many nutrients as cacao powder. To be honest, use whichever one you have on hand. It’s great to keep cacao or cocoa powder in the home as you can’t really binge on it.

And yes I’ve tried to binge eat cocoa powder by itself with water. Spoiler alert it doesn’t taste very good. This is great news for you and smoothies.

WHY USE FROZEN BANANAS

We’ll make a simple strawberry smoothie with strawberries, almond milk, and frozen bananas. For smoothie bowls, we use less liquid so that it is a thicker consistency. You can add in more almond milk based on your preference and if you need help blending all the ingredients together.

Chocolate Smoothie Almond Milk

It’s important to use frozen bananas in this chocolate smoothie with almond milk because we want a cool smoothie. When we pour on the chocolate shell mixture on top of the cool smoothie, the chocolate mixture forms a frozen shell in less than a minute.

Blend your strawberry with almond milk smoothie. Place in a bowl. In a separate mixing bowl, combine your chocolate shell ingredients and give it a stir.

Then pour on top of your smoothie bowl and spread. This insanely delicious chocolate smoothie with almond milk is ready for you to enjoy.

Take your spoon and crack into this chocolate smoothie. Tastes delicious as a fun and special weekend smoothie my friend.
